What is the Writer’s Block?

There are many who deny the existence of the Writer’s Block. I used to be one of them.

There’s no such thing as writer’s block. That was invented by people in California who couldn’t write.  – Terry Pratchett

And then there are those who say…

I’ve often said that there’s no such thing as writer’s block; the problem is idea block. – Jeffery Deaver

Thinking block, writing block…what does it matter. It’s something that stops a writer from writing, and yes, it exists. I stopped denying its existence only after I experienced it…and yet, the following quote makes a lot of sense.

You can’t think yourself out of a writing block; you have to write yourself out of a thinking block. – John Rogers

To beat the block, one must write. But write about what? I remembered this quote from a while ago…and I found it again at Jeff Goins’ Site.

Writing about a writer’s block is better than not writing at all.
