Writers might appear to live in this world, but the truth is that they don’t. They create their own worlds in their heads and though you see them chained to their desks, reading, writing, scribbling, typing…you don’t really see them. They aren’t there. They are away, inhabiting the worlds they create – they live there along with the characters they imagine.

For most of us, writing isn’t a profession. It’s a vocation, and that is true for me as well.

When I can steal time from my work, I write and paint – and I feel the same invigorating passion for both writing and painting. As I explain in the “About” section of my Art Site, my mind shifts between the two zones – the zone in which I feel and paint, and the zone in which I think and write.

I’ll write more when I can, but for now…
